Oxo-, nitrido- and imido-osmium(VI) complexes with a sterically bulky chelating alkoxide ligand

Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of dioxoosmium(VI) complexes cis-[OsO2L] and trans-[OsO2L′](L′= NH2But, pyridine or 4-tert-butylpyridine), the nitrido complex [OsN(L)Cl], and imido complexes [OsL(NCOCF3)Cl(O2CCF3)] and [OsL(NPh)2][H2L = 2,6-bis(2-hydroxy-2,2-diphenylethyl)pyridine] are described. The crystal structures of [OsN(L)Cl] and [OsO2L(NH2But)]·0.5C6H14 have been determined: the Os[triple bond, length half m-dash]N and average Os[double bond, length half m-dash]O bond distances are 1.634(5) and 1.741(5)Å, respectively.
