Synthetic molecular receptor for piperazine and related diamines

Abstract

The new tailored tetrahydroxycyclophane 4b is shown to be a selective host compound for piperazine 6 and structurally related diamines 7 and 8; association constants for the 1 : 1 complexes have been measured by 1H NMR titration experiments.
