Oxidative coupling of methane over Ba2Sb(La0.5Bi0.5)O6 and other perovskite oxide catalysts

Abstract

Novel perovskite-type oxides Ba2MIIIMVO6 containing high oxidation-state post-transition elements have been shown to catalyse the oxidative coupling of methane; yields of up to ca. 17% are obtained at 1023 K when the catalyst contains antimony(V).
