Treatment of (η2-ethene)(trimethylphosphane)zirconocene 1 with 3,3-dimethylcyclopropene 2 leads to the formation of a new type of bis(ethylzirconocene) complex 3 with 3,3-dimethylallenediyl as a µ1,µ2-bridging ligand; the crystal structure of 3 is determined by X-ray analysis.
