Protonation of [{MnIV(saltn)(µ-O)}2] results in significant modification of structure and catalase-like reactivity

Abstract

Protonation of an {MnIV2-O)}2 core to form {(MNIV)22-O)(µ2-OH)} leads to perturbations of the physical properties of this unit including an increase in metal–metal separation (ca. 0.1 Å) and loss of catalase reactivity.
