The structure of erythromycin A in [2H6]DMSO and buffered D2O: full assignments of the 1H and 13C NMR spectra

Abstract

The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of erythromycin A in [2H6]-DMSO and buffered D2O have been assigned using a range of one and two dimensional NMR techniques. Assignments have been made for both the major (keto) and minor forms of the drug, and the minor form has been shown to be the 12,9-cyclic hemiacetal.
