Two efficient partial syntheses of gibberellin A81 from gibberellin A3

Abstract

Two efficient routes for the synthesis of gibberellin A81(2-epi-gibberellin A29) from gibberellin A3 are described. Both methods employ strategies based on iodolactonisation procedures and avoid manipulation of rings C/D.
