Faraday communications. Hypothetical twisted structure for C60F60

Abstract

Steric strain in a proposed icosahedral ‘pincushion’ structure of C60F60 could be relieved by descent to I symmetry, preserving 60-fold equivalence of F and C nuclei and giving a chiral equilibrium structure.
