Rearrangement of the phosphonium methyl iron complex [FeCp(CO)2CH2(PEt2H)]+ BPh4 by β-hydrogen elimination (Cp = cyclopentadienyl)

Abstract

UV photolysis of the title compound yields FeCp(CO)2PEt2Me+ by β-elimination from the phosphonium methyl moiety with evidence for an intermediate η2-phosphmomethanide metal hydride complex.
