Structure and synthesis of sporogenic psi factors from Aspergillus nidulans

Abstract

The structures of four hydroxylated unsaturated C18 fatty acids (psi factors) which induce premature sexual sporulation in A. nidulans, and the enantioselective synthesis of two of the components, psiBα and psiBβ, are. described.
