Reaction of (pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)(dicarbonyl)[1,3,3-tris(trimethylsilyl)-η1-1,2-diphosphaallyl] iron with pentacarbonylchromium: formation of the first η3-ferradiphosphaallyl and η5-1,2-diphosphacyclopentadienyl complexes

Abstract

Reaction of [(η⁵-C₅Me₅)(CO)₂Fe–P(SiMe₃)–PC(SiMe₃)₂]3 with (Z-cyclooctene)Cr(CO)₅ affords the η³-1-ferra-2,3-diphosphaferrocene complex {[(η⁵-C₅Me₅)(CO)₂Fe–PP–C(SiMe₃)₃]Cr(CO)₄}4 and the first 1,2-diphosphaferrocene {(η⁵-C₅Me₅)[η⁵-1,2-P₂C₃(OSiMe₃)₂(SiMe₃)Cr(CO)₅]Fe}5, the molecular structures of which have been determined by X-ray analysis.
