Synthesis, and spectral and X-ray structural studies of a novel delocalised diphosphazene (CF3)2PNPPh3 and the iron carbonyl complexes [Fe(CO)4{(CF3)2PNPPh3}] and [Fe(CO)3{(CF3)2PNPPh3}2]
Abstract
The diphosphazene (CF3)2PNPPh3 L prepared from the reaction of (CF3)2PN3 with PPh3 has been shown from a single-crystal X-ray structural study to possess an unusual and novel delocalised PNP moiety containing PIV and PV atoms; the PNP structure is retained upon coordination to Fe in the complexes [Fe(CO)4{(CF3)2PNPPh3}]1 and [Fe(CO)3{(CF3)2PNPPh3}2]2.
