Unusual alkylidene-bridged complexes of nickel by α-H abstraction from a nickelacycle. Crystal and molecular structure of [{Ni2(CHCMe2-o-C6H4)Cl(PMe3)2}2]

Abstract

The pseudoallylic complex [Ni(η3-CH2C6H4-o-Me)Cl(PMe3)] effects α-H abstraction from the metallacycle [[graphic omitted]H4)(PMe3)2] under very mild conditions, with formation of an alkylidene-bridged tetrametallic species of composition [{[graphic omitted]H4)Cl(PMe3)2}2].
