Preparation of gibberellin hapten–protein conjugates. Part 1. Conjugation via carboxymethylenation at C-17

Abstract

The preparation of C-17 carboxylated derivatives of gibberellin A4 using anions of α-trimethylsilyl-ethanoic acid derivatives is described. It is demonstrated that such derivatives are useful for the preparation of GA4-17-linked hapten–protein conjugates for use as antigens.
