Faraday communications. High–low displacive transition in the all-silica form of the AlPO4-5 topology

Abstract

Calcined Chevron-SSZ-24, the all-silica form of the AIPO4-5 (AFI) topology, undergoes a high–low displacive transition near 370 K, apparently involving re-orientation of tetrahedra, as evidenced by the three-fold displacement of the oxygen atoms linking 3D layers in the low-temperature form.
