Electrochemical study of the reaction between leucodye and FeIII in dye-based photogalvanic systems

Abstract

The electrochemical reduction of thionine and methylene blue in the presence of Fe3+ has been examined in terms of a catalytic regenerative mechanism. The catalytic currents due to homogeneous chemical reaction between leucodyes and Fe3+ have been used to estimate rate constants.
