The chemistry of niobium and tantalum dithiocarbamato-complexes. Part 4. The co-ordination isomers of NbCl3(S2CNEt2)2 and the X-ray crystal structure of [NbCl3(S2CNEt2)2]

Abstract

The co-ordination isomers [NbCl3(S2CNEt2)2] and [Nb(S2CNEt2)4][NbCl6] have been prepared by the reaction of NbCl5 with SiMe3(S2CNEt2) in dichloromethane. The identity of the isomers has been established using a combination of X-ray crystallography, for the monomer, and 93Nb n.m.r. spectroscopy.
