The rearrangement of coordinated η2-vinyl ligands into η3-allyl and alkylidyne species

Abstract

Details of the rearrangement of the η2-vinyl complex [[graphic omitted]Me(Ph)}{P(OMe)3}2(η-C5H5)]1 to the η3-allyl species [Mo{η3-CH2C(Ph)CH(Ph)}{P(OMe)3}2(η-C5H5)]2a, 2b, and of [[graphic omitted]H(Ph)}(CO)(PMe2Ph)(η-C5H5)]3 into [Mo{[triple bond, length half m-dash]CCHPh2}(CO)(PMe2Ph)(η-C5H5)]4, are described together with a crystal structure determination of 2b and possible mechanistic pathways.
