Activation of superoxide; efficient desulphurization of thioamides to the corresponding amides using a peroxyphosphorus intermediate generated from phenylphosphonic dichloride and superoxide

Abstract

Treatment of thioamides with a peroxyphosphorus intermediate generated from phenylphosphonic dichloride and superoxide (O2˙) at –4 °C in acetonitrile gave the corresponding amides in excellent yields.
