Effect of sodium perchlorate on the reaction rate of 1,8-dihydroxy-2,7-bis[pyrazole-3(5)-ylazo]naphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid with palladium(II) in strongly acidic media

Abstract

The chelation kinetics of the reaction of palladium(II) with 1,8-dihydroxy-2,7-bis[pyrazole-3(5)-ylazo] naphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid in strongly acidic media (2–8 M perchloric acid) were examined using stopped-flow spectrophotometry. The values of the rate constants for a particular concentration of perchloric acid decreased with an increase in sodium perchlorate concentration in the range 0–2.30 M.
