Ring-opening reactions of an epoxycyclopentene
Abstract
Under a range of conditions, the 5,5-dimethyl-1-methylsulphonyl-2-phenyl-3,4-epoxycyclopentene (1) ring-opens almost exclusively at the allylic terminus of the epoxide.
