Detection limit scale in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry

Abstract

In order to make a reasonable comparison of detection limits in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, a detection limit scale is proposed using a relationship previously established between detection limits and optical properties of ionic lines. Several elements and ionic lines have been selected for this scale, which is used to compare the detection limits as a function of plasma parameter optimisation, nebulisers and generator frequency.
