Solute–solvent interactions in NaI–glycerol–diol systems

Abstract

The enthalpy of solution on NaI in glycerol–butanediol (1,2-BD and 1,4-BD) mixtures has been measured throughout the whole mixed solvent composition range at 313.15 K. The variation of the standard enthalpy of solution of NaI, ΔH[graphic omitted], in relation to the mole fraction of diol in the mixtures has been discussed. The enthalpic pair interaction coefficients hEN were determined. We found also a linear correlation of these coefficients with the reciprocal electric permittivities of the diols.
