Vapour pressure of butane from 173 to 280 K

Abstract

Saturation vapour pressures of butane are reported at ca. 1 K intervals from 173 to 280 K. Above 225 K these agree with values calculated from two published vapour-pressure equations, but below 225 K this is not the case. Over the entire temperature range the data do, however, give an excellent fit to a thermodynamic vapour-pressure equation. Standard thermodynamic parameters for the vaporization of butane at 240 K are calculated and compared with literature values.
