Densimetric and viscosimetric investigations of NaI in hexamethylphosphoramide–water mixtures at 293.15, 298.15 and 303.15 K

Abstract

Measurements of density and viscosity of hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA)–water mixtures and of solutions of NaI in these mixtures have been performed at 293.15, 298.15 and 303.15 K. The volume excesses and apparent molar volumes of HMPA in water have been calculated and the apparent molar volumes of NaI in HMPA–H2O mixtures determined in the temperature region under investigation. Relative viscoisities of NaI solutions in HMPA–H2O mixtures have been calculated. The data obtained are discussed in this work together with the standard enthalpy of solution of NaI in HMPA–H2O mixtures at 298.15 K.
