Synthesis and first X-ray crystal structure of a Bi(OR)3 complex: tris(2,6-dimethylphenoxo)bismuth

Abstract

BiCl3 reacts with three equivalents of NaOR (R = CMe3, C6H3Me2-2,6) to form Bi(OR)3, which for R = C6H3Me2-2,6 was found by X-ray crystallography to have distorted pyramidal geometry.
