Carbon–carbon bond formation by reaction of an alkyne with ruthenium(II) complexes. Crystal structure of [RuCl(η3-Ph2P–CH(CPh[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)–C(But)[double bond, length as m-dash]O](p-cymene)]PF6

Abstract

[RuCl(η2-Ph2PCR[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R′)O(η6-arene)] complexes, prepared from α-diphenylphosphinoketones, react with phenylacetylene in the presence of AgBF4 or AgPF6 and give regioselective carbon–carbon bond formation involving the α-phosphino carbon atom of the phosphinoenolate ligand, as shown by an X-ray diffraction analysis.
