Analysis of the rotational motions of the guanidino group in arginine

Abstract

In the low temperature 1H n.m.r. spectrum of Nα-acetyl-L-arginine isopropyl ester hydrochloride, the four proton resonances of the sidechain NH2-groups have been assigned, and the barrier to rotations about C–N1, C–N2, and C–Nε measured.
