1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition of a diazoalkane to the C[double bond, length as m-dash]O bond of a bridging-carbonyl dirhodium complex

Abstract

The reaction between N2CBut2 and Cp2Rh2(CO)(CF3C2CF3)(Cp = cyclopentadienyl) results in the (3 + 2) cycloaddition of the diazo compound to the bridging carbonyl to give a binuclear Cp2Rh2-complex incorporating the unusual ligand [graphic omitted][horiz bar, double dot above]C(CF3)[horiz bar, double dot above](CF3).
