Determination of cadmium(II) with a carbon paste electrode modified with an ion-exchange resin

Abstract

The determination of cadmium(II) was studied using a carbon paste electrode modified with an ion-exchange resin (Dowex 50W-X8) using differential-pulse and linear scanning voltammetry. Suitable conditions for the pre-concentration of cadmium(II) were determined in an open circuit by ion exchange. With the proposed method, a cadmium(II) concentration of 1.0 ng ml–1 could be determined.
