The epoxidation of 17β-hydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-4-norandrost-5-ene and of 3-diacetoxymethyl-4-norandrost-5-en-17-one with m-chloroperbenzoic acid, has been shown to give the 5β,6β-epoxides.
