Peracid oxidation of 16-arylidene- and 16-alkylidene-17-oxo-steroids

Abstract

Peracid oxidation of 16-arylidene- and 16-alkylidene-5α-androstan-17-ones (1)–(6) gave no α,βunsaturated δ-lactones, but resulted mainly in products of direct oxidation of the olefinic double bond.
