Impulse nebulisation atomic absorption spectrometry. Part 1: model for the response of flame atomiser

Abstract

A model based on the mass balance of the flame atomiser combined with axial dispersion to describe the transient response was developed to evaluate impulse nebulisation and flow injection atomic absorption spectrometry (Fl-AAS). The instrumentation for the response studies and the method used to calculate the model parameters are described. Comparison of experimental and calculated data showed good agreement and also the potentials of such models in the evaluation of the complex processes of sample nebulisation.
