A method for the determination of hyperfine coupling matrices from the ENDOR spectra of polycrystalline samples

Abstract

A new and totally general method for the determination of the hyperfine coupling tensors from the ENDOR spectra of polycrystalline samples is presented. The tensor for the γ-proton of the complex bis(pentane-2,4-dionato)oxovanadium(IV) is extracted by fitting the experimental variation of the hyperfine splitting to that calculated from theory.
