Planar 64-electron butterfly clusters with elongated metal–metal bonds: synthesis and molecular structures of Ru4(CO)13(µ-PPh2)2 and Ru4(CO)10(µ-PPh2)4
Abstract
The 64-electron phosphido bridged clusters Ru4(CO)13(µ-PPh2)2 and Ru4(CO)10(µ-PPh2)4 have been synthesised and characterised by X-ray diffraction as consisting of quasiplanar Ru4 butterfly polyhedra with unusually elongated metal–metal bonds.
