Epoxidation of alkenes with iodosylbenzene catalysed by a water-soluble chromium(III)N,N′-ethylene bis(salicylideneaminato)(salen) complex using β-cyclodextrin as a phase transfer agent
Abstract
Addition of β-cyclodextrin as a phase-transfer agent resulted in an increase in yields and rates of epoxidation of alkenes with iodosylbenzene, catalysed by the water soluble complex [Cr(salen)(H2O)2]Cl in water – methylene chloride.
