Segmented flow injection-solvent extraction analysis

Abstract

A flow injection-solvent extraction procedure has been developed in which the dispersion of the extracted samples is relatively small. However, because the samples are injected into a segmented flow stream, the additional dispersion, which is observed when the samples pass through a segmentor and the tubing for transfer of the aqueous phase in the conventional procedure, is not eliminated. Larger peaks are observed and higher sample throughputs achieved.
