Spectrophotometric determination of the stability of clavulanic acid and its ether and amine derivatives in serum and urine

Abstract

A method is described for the determination of the stability of clavulanic acid and its ether and amine derivatives in human serum and urine. The procedure is based on the reaction of the clavam compounds with imidazole, which results in the formation of a product with a strong UV absorbance at 313 nm.
