Capillary gas chromatographic determination of cyclizine and dipipanone in biological fluids

Abstract

A capillary column gas chromatographic. method for the simultaneous determination of cyclizine and dipipanone in blood and urine is described, which has a detection limit for both drugs of 1 ng ml–1. Cyclizine and dipipanone can both be extracted from alkaline media using diethyl ether with efficiencies ranging from 88 to 98% and from 73 to 93%, respectively. The relative standard deviations for the method, applied to whole blood containing both drugs in the concentration range 2–10 ng ml–1, are 4–20% for dipipanone and 4–35% for cyclizine.
