Rapid ion chromatographic separation and determination of arsenic(III)-arsenic(V) and molybdenum(VI)-chromium(VI)

Abstract

A flow coulometric detector was used to study the separation of two pairs of inorganic anions by ion chromatography using sodium nitrate as eluent. The separations of AsIII-AsV and MoVI-CrVI were carried out within 11 and 22 min, respectively. The separation conditions for AsIII and AsV were 0.17 M sodium nitrate as eluent with a flow-rate of 1.0 ml min–1 and those for MoVI and CrVI were 0.3 M sodium nitrate as eluent with a flow-rate of 1.2 ml min–1.
