Synthesis of (η-cyclopentadienyl)(trimethylphosphine)tungsten derivatives and related chemistry

Abstract

New or improved syntheses of the compounds [W(η-C5H5)(PMe3)2H3], [W(η-C5H6)(PMe3)3H2], [W(η-C5H5)(PMe3)3H2][BF4], [W(η-C5H5)(PMe3)3H], [W(η-C5H5)(PMe3)H5], [W(η-C5H4Et)(PMe3)H5], [W(η-C5H5)(η2-C5H8)(PMe3)2H], [W(η-C5H4Et)H2], [W(η-C5H5)(η-C5H4Et)Cl2], [W(η-1,3-C6H8)(PMe3)3H2], and [W(η4-C5H5-exo-CHPh2)(PMe3)3H2] are described. N.m.r. studies on [W(PMe3)5H (D)] show that the HD moiety is not present as an η2-HD ligand.
