Phosphorus–tellurium compounds. Part 3. Cyclopentadienyliron tellurophosphorane complexes: tellurium-bridged iron phosphine compounds?
Abstract
Cyclopentadienyliron tellurophosphorane cations [Fe(C5H5)(CO)2(TePR3)]+(5; R = Me, Pri, But, NMe2, or morpholino) have been prepared by reaction of [Fe(C5H5)(CO)2(thf)]+(thf = C4H8O) with TePR3. The bonding properties of the Fe–Te–P fragment are discussed using n.m.r. data which indicate π bonding between the iron and tellurium atoms.
