Tetrahedral distortion in palladium(II) macrocyclic complexes: the single crystal X-ray structure of [Pd(tbc)](PF6)2·0.4MeNO2(tbc = 1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclotetradecane)

Abstract

The single crystal X-ray structure of [Pd(tbc)](PF6)2·0.4MeNO2 shows a tetrahedrally distorted square-planar stereochemistry around PdII; this distortion accounts for the anodic shift of the PdII/PdI redox couple for the cation.
