Molecular hydrogen complexes: the effect of steric factors on the protonation of the monohydrides [(η5-C5H5)Ru(Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2)H](n= 1–3)

Abstract

Protonation of the title complexes leads to either (η2-H2) or trans-dihydride monocations depending on the length of the chain connecting the two phosphine atoms; T1 and JHD measurements are used to support these structures.
