Liquid crystals for non-linear optics: mesophases formed by push–pull stilbenes and diacetylenes

Abstract

The push–pull stilbene and diacetylene derivatives (1fh) and (2ck) display nematic and smectic phases, which may be of special interest for their non-linear optical properties.
