Spectrophotometric determination of carbaryl and propoxur using aminophenols and phenylenediamine

Abstract

Three spectrophotometric methods are described for the determination of carbaryl and propoxur in insecticidal formulations, water and grains, based on the formation of coloured species with p-aminophenol, p-N,N-dimethylphenylenediamine dihydrochloride and 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid, respectively, under specified experimental conditions. All the methods are simple, sensitive and accurate to within ±1.0%.
