The photochemistry of haematoporphyrin and some related species

Abstract

Triplet state parameters and singlet oxygen yields are given for haematoporphyrin and related polymeric systems in a number of homogeneous and microheterogeneous environments. Some preliminary fluorescence lifetime results are also presented. The results are discussed in terms of aggregation and folding/unfolding for the simple and polymeric porphyrin systems, respectively.
