A modified Poisson–Boltzmann equation for the ionic atmosphere around a cylindrical wall

Abstract

A modified Poisson–Boltzmann equation has been derived for the mean electrostatic potential in the neighbourhood of an isolated infinite cylinder immersed in a restricted primitive model electrolyte. The asymptotic solution is similar to that found for the modified Poisson–Boltzmann equation in the planar and spherically symmetric situations.
