Differential scanning calorimetric studies of the phase transition in adamantanone

Abstract

The phase transition between the high-temperature disordered and low-temperature ordered phases of adamantanone has been studied by differential scanning calorimetry. A large hysteresis in the transition temperature occurs between the first cooling and heating transitions (171 and 205 K), and when the sample is cycled several times through the transition these temperatures shift to 178 and 221 K.
