Application of the confined rotator model for calculation of higher-order orientational correlation functions
Abstract
The so-called confined rotator model of molecular motion in liquids is used to obtain higher-order orientational correlation functions. Calculations have been performed using the angular velocity distribution function for a planar rotator and also for a rotator in three-dimensional space. The Raman orientational correlation functions from the model are compared with the corresponding correlation functions from molecular dynamics simulation for several molecules and an acceptable fit is obtained.
